Chairman of Turkish Penal Code Association, Press Relase

Lawyer Fikret İlkiz stated:
"I condemn the attacks, which are subjecting the lawyers, who have been honoring their defending duties against the illegal acts during Taksim Gezi Park protests and shouting out their rightful and legitimate voices to the public. The huge buildings you call 'Palace' were not built to beat lawyers, to drag them on the ground, nor to throw them out from the court house. Throwing lawyers out from court houses, attempts of silencing is the biggest assault on defence. The pressure violently preventing the freedom on rights to legal remedies can't discourage the lawyers. Lawyers haven't been silence opposed to such attacks throughout the history and have not bowed to any force and they won't."
