Turkish Doctor's Union (TTB) has released new numbers regarding injuries: 7822 people, 59 of which severely, have been injured in the protests, all of them by police violence. 4 people have died, 6 people are still struggling for their lifes.
In Ankara 944 people have been taken into custody according to official figures.
Yesterday alone over 100 people have been taken into custody, many of them members of the ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed), but also members of the People's Houses (Halkevleri) and many journalists. These detentions took place in Istanbul, Ankara and Eskisehir, where the protest had intensified in the last days, but has now come under attack by police forces. While these detentions against activists, journalists and even doctors carry on, the government wants to pass a bill on social media. They claim that they want to target the spreading of lies and witch-hunts on twitter. It is unclear, however, when the detentions of AKP supporters and pro-AKP journalists will begin.
