TV Networks Fined for Protest Coverage

Turkey's High Council of Radio and Television (RTÜK) fined several TV networks for their coverage of the uprising in Turkey. These were Ulusal TV, Halk TV, Cem TV and EM TV. The crime they comitted was braodcasting a "program content that could harm the physical, moral and mental development  of children and young people." They were also warned for "for “encouraging people to violence” and “violating broadcasting principles”. Apparently it is more harmful to broadcast police violence against people of all ages than to conduct this very violence.
